Welcome to Aleshanee Australian Shepherds....
Although we are the new kids on the block with Aussies, we started showing Afghan Hounds in 1972. We owner bred and handled multiple Group winning American and Canadian champions. We are no strangers to the dedication it takes to become a world class kennel. We took a break to raise our children and are now re-entering the wonderful world of purebred dogs. We chose the Australian Shepherd for their beauty, brains and many talents. Although we are a Confirmation kennel, we are also keenly interested in Herding and Agility. We are a small hobby kennel and our two ( count them 2 ) Aussie girls live with us in our home and are part of our every day life. We are a few blocks away from Georgian Bay on the shores of Lake Huron and are close to some of the finest walking trails and beaches in North America. The longest fresh water beach in the World (Wasaga Beach) is a short 15 minutes away. Our dogs enjoy the freedom to explore with us some of the best year round recreation destinations in Ontario, which leaves them mentally and physically refreshed each day.
We began our search in the fall of 2006 and spent countless hours reviewing pedigrees and inquiring on littlers. We welcomed our first beloved Aussie March 18, 2008, three weeks after receiving the incredibile email with the picture that sealed the deal. Her name is Runoak Takoda Aleshanee , a deep blue merle with copper points, who comes from an amazing double London cross (CH Bayshore's Three to Get Ready aka London). Takoda's pedigree is exceptional, as 28 out of 30 Sires and Dams in her 5 generation pedigree are Champions. And yes, for those who knew London, Takoda has inherited his desire to talk. She is a delightful talker and is our entertainment package. Takoda is well named. Takoda in Sioux means "Friend of All" and Aleshanee in Sioux means "Girl who likes to Play" You truly live your name. In the fall of 2008, we re-entered the show ring after a 30 year absence and Takoda took three Reserve Winners at 10 months of age and earned her first title at 7 months. She successfully gained her Herding Instinct Certificate under renowned CKC judge Susan Jewel. Congratulations Takoda, wear your title with pride...there is more to come.. In the confirmation ring, Takoda was shown by Sarah Drake, but as we re-join the show world, we will owner handle as we go forward... We have to thank Runoak Kennels for believing in us and allowing us the opportunity to purchase such a great puppy. Takoda's pedigree leaves us speechless. She is an amazing Aussie.
From the moment we welcomed Takoda, we began our search for the ultimate deep Red Merle puppy with an oustanding and equally impressive pedigree as Takoda. In December 2008, just a few days after she was born, our journey came to a close the moment we saw this incredible puppy. Her pedigree boasts an amazing 8 Hall of Fame (HOF) Sires / Dams. We have no sheep in our backyard, but Cheyenne combines the strength of the stock dog
and the solid confirmtion of an Aussie that can both show and work. This girl can move !!!
She has incredible reach and is true in movement. She has the soft temperment of
a companion and the heart of a gladiator, not to mention..she is downright gorgeous.
Cheyenne crossed our threshold and entered our lives on Friday February 13, 2009.
We need to thank Tucker Creek for chosing us to be her forever home, over many more
mature kennels. Cheyenne embodies all that is great in an Aussie..
Please enjoy your stay and visit us often. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any inquiry. We would love to hear from you.
