HIC at the end of a dogs name is a title that stands for Herding Instinct Certificate.
This is a pass/fail test to determine a dogs’ natural instinct to Herd livestock.
The dog is placed in a large pen with the judge and several sheep. Based on the dog's interaction with the sheep, the judge will, or will not, award a Herding Instinct Test Certificate (HIC)
When the dog passes, it is awarded a Herding Instinct Certificate and the title of HIC may be used after your dogs registered name.
